The Story
Before Emma Dree was standing on stages as a poet and speaker, Montrice Williams spent more than fifteen years building a career in corporate leadership and training. She earned degrees in psychology and business, built a career in risk and governance, became a real estate professional, wrote books, and eventually earned an MFA in Creative Writing.
And then life required more of her than credentials could prepare her for.
Loss, caregiving, grief, transition, reinvention, and the complicated work of beginning again changed not only what she had to say, but how she wanted to say it. Poetry became more than art. Storytelling became more than communication. And the ability to hold a room became as important as the ability to command one.
Today, Emma Dree brings all of those worlds with her: psychology and business, leadership and lived experience, research and story, facilitation and poetry. She doesn't believe people have to choose between information they can understand and language they can feel. Her work makes room for both.
